Description

Cedar Crest College has an exciting opportunity for a creative, tech-savvy trailblazer to join our team of professionals in Marketing and Communications. This position plays a key role in crafting, composing, and curating the Cedar Crest story of empowering people through education via multiple mediums and channels.

The position requires a creative individual with initiative, excellent judgment, and a proven capacity for working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, a dedication to quality and service, an understanding of diverse audiences (and how to best reach them), and a passion for empowering people through education.

The digital content creator will:

  • create effective social media content consistent with the Cedar Crest College brand guidelines
  • serve as an ambassador and protector of our brand voice
  • contribute to the development of marketing & social media videos, highlighting the various programs offered by the College
  • craft and maintain our “social media swag box” - GIFs, digital stickers, wallpapers, slide templates, and more
  • play a key role in Cedar Crest’s social media strategy and help manage social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube
  • provide reporting and analysis on the effectiveness of digital content
  • assist with the management of special projects and events, including the Mayfair Festival of the Arts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, management, or related field.
  • Stellar writing and editing skills, appropriate to different mediums (screen, print, video, speeches)
  • The ability to balance art and science to produce user-friendly, on-brand content optimized for the web and other digital mediums.
  • Photography and videography skills.
  • Effective project management skills with demonstrated ability to set timelines, map milestones, meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • A deep understanding of web technologies and applications, including social networking, social media tools, and communication trends.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • A proven capacity for working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • The ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
  • Familiarity with FERPA, copyright, and WCAG Compliance and other higher ed regulations a plus.
  • Experience working in CMS and/or email campaign software a plus.
