Job Overview:

LPL's Information Security team is seeking an exceptional Principal Security Architect to engage on project efforts in Cloud, On-prem and Data security architectures. As the Principal Network Security Architect at LPL, you will work side by side with our Operations, Business units, Development, and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure our environments are secured and monitored. The right person for this role will have a broad technical cloud security background with a focus on security design, detection, prevention, and response to security threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with a team of Security Architects to conduct solution architecture reviews and provide strategic guidance for technology projects, fully integrated with LPL’s SDLC process.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Network Security, offering expert guidance on industry best practices and emerging trends.

  • Design and develop best-in-class security architecture patterns and solutions, leveraging defensible industry reference models and standards.

  • Partner with Network Architects to secure LPL’s network infrastructure, evaluating the trade-offs of various security controls.

  • Lead project-level security reviews to identify risks and ensure the implementation of approved cloud security recommendations.

  • Analyze emerging threats and vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate risk impacts to relevant business units.

  • Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies, providing detailed analysis of security implications and trade-offs.

  • Stay current on cloud security trends, tools, and best practices, and share insights to continuously enhance LPL’s cloud security posture.

  • Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs), and objectives and key results (OKRs) to reflect execution progress, risks, and opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in Network security. Proven record designing secure network architectures. (Firewalls, Gateways, LB, Proxies, DNS)

  • 8+ years of experience working knowledge of information security controls, guidelines, and standards (e.g., ISO27000 series, OWASP, CSA CCM, CIS 20 Critical Security Controls, SOX, and NIST). 

Core Competencies:

  • Must be self-driven, yet flexible and highly adept at consulting, negotiating, communicating, consensus building, and presenting.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance.

Preferences:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience

  • In-depth knowledge of AWS and its core services.

  • Solid experience securing scalable web architectures and distributed systems.

  • Technical knowledge/coding skills in any of the following: Java, C# .Net, Ruby and/or Python

  • Solid understanding of malware, emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerability management.

  • CCSP/Other Cloud Specific Certification, CISSP and/or GIAC are a plus.

Pay Range:

$148,988-$248,313/year


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
