About the role

Position Summary

Provide expedient engineering support in an aircraft modification production environment. to provide structural repair designs, and coordination of design engineering issues on fixed wing aircraft. Support internal and external customers (e.g. production personnel, suppliers, materials, quality, design), as well as to other engineers. Act as liaison between the shop floor and design / certification engineering personnel.

Essential Functions Statement:

 

  • Liaison engineering support (repair design, analysis, calculations, drawings, and certification).
  • Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.
  • Works with own initiative in problem solving without appreciable direction; work is reviewed and approved by cognizant engineers, or DERs.
  • Collaborate and engage with various engineering, manufacturing, and product support teams to complete designs.
  • Participate in design reviews.
  • Prepare engineering reports and presentations.

Competency Statements

  • Demonstrable experience and or understanding of aircraft operations and Government contracting.
  • Demonstrable experience and or understanding of KA350 integration and production.  
  • Demonstrable experience with known DoD ISR/EW integration kits.  
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in written format, for briefing and presentation delivery to program employees, management, and customers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of company philosophy and processes.
  • High level of learning, strategic thinking, team building, conflict resolution and time management.
  • Must be able to take initiative and work independently.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers.

 Supervisory Responsibility

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shift may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require.

Facility Location: OKC - Wiley Post/Remote

Travel requirements are: 0-10%


Minimum Required Education and Experience

 

Education: BS in Engineering 

 

Experience: 5 years within the aviation industry with an emphasis on aircraft modification, structural repairs, MRO/Liaison/MRB Engineering etc. 

Working knowledge in a broad range of engineering subjects including manufacturing and Federal Aviation Regulation Part 23.

Strong understanding of FARs, SB”s, AD’s, and Advisory Circulars.

Preferred candidates will also have proficiency in part design (machined parts), sheet metal, composite part design, as well as familiarity with aircraft structural repair (SRM) and maintenance manuals (AMM).

 

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (specifically Word, Project, Teams, and Excel) and basic AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

 

Education: BS in Engineering 

 

Experience: 10 years within the aviation industry with an emphasis on aircraft modification, structural repairs, MRO/Liaison/MRB Engineering etc.
