About This Role
Textron Systems is seeking a Full time Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design focused on military applications. The candidate should possess good communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with suppliers within a multidiscipline team. The position requires experience integrating component design solutions into an overall assembly. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in the detailed design of structural components. 
  • Being a member of a team responsible for the development and design integration of mechanical components and systems 
  • Creation of Technical Data Packages that include 3D drawings, specifications and materials lists for component and assemblies of mechanical and electro-mechanical applications. 
  • Preparing and directing high quality mechanical and electro-mechanical detail and assembly drawings 
  • Transitioning product design to production and test. 
  • Writing technical and proposal documents. 
  • Creating detailed design reports and presentations to summarize design/analysis results.

Qualifications

The candidate should be comfortable as a designer of mechanical components and systems subjected to extreme hypersonic flight conditions. The activities include

  • B.S. in Mechanical engineering or related discipline with 2+ years of related experience (Level II). 
  • B.S. in Mechanical engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of related experience (Level III). 
  • Comfortable as a designer of mechanical components and systems subjected to extreme hypersonic flight conditions. 
  • Packaging design of electronics systems and interconnects, the development of interface control documents, and understanding of designing for manufacturing and assembly techniques. 
  • CAD design utilizing 3D digital product development tools and with understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5. 
  • Skilled utilization of 3D digital manufacturing information to influence design definition options allowing manufacturable detailed assemblies and material schedules subject to configuration management. 
  • Ability to generate product performance specifications, mass property summary reports, and detailed design summary technical reports. 
  • Demonstrated Design for Manufacturing and Assem
