Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. As a leader in muscle biology and the mechanics of muscle performance, the company is developing small molecule drug candidates specifically engineered to impact myocardial muscle function and contractility.
Reporting directly to the Director Market Access, DACH, the Senior Field Market Access Manager is responsible for developing and executing market access strategies within Berlin and greater area to ensure optimal patient access to therapies. Working closely with the Director Market Access DACH and cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Medical), the role focuses on: Developing and implementing regional Market Access strategy and tactics by identification of regional prescription and remuneration hurdles, engaging with local payers, federations and healthcare stakeholders, addressing access barriers at hospital and office-based account level in cardiology care. The Senior Field Market Access Manager contributes to regional insights and data analysis, tactical solutions to lead successful reimbursement outcomes, strategic input to align local execution with the broader commercial objectives. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, a deep understanding of regional healthcare dynamics, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating proactively across functions.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
- Partner with commercial Key Account Managers with face-to-face, personal and individual HCP education on regional reimbursement and budget regulations in order to address questions regarding funding of high-value specialty care medicines in cardiology (including possibility of individual special practice conditions).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regional payers, sick funds, SHI physicians’ associations, hospital controllers, retail pharmacists, and other healthcare decision-makers.
- Drive regional x-functional collaboration with Commercial and Medical to engage with physician associations and other relevant stakeholders to approach prescription hurdles (e.g. documentation sheet, special regional practice condition).
- Address and discuss imbalance of national special practice condition within the AMNOG with relevant stakeholders and identify mutual solutions (e.g. regional special practice condition).
- Explore and, if required, execute contracting strategy: Identify strategic opportunities for regional reimbursement- related agreements and contracts for , including negotiation of the contracts. Prepare and present business cases for such regional agreements to the DACH Leadership Team and in case of approval, lead and monitor execution in practice.
- Engage with drug evaluation committees and payer organizations to facilitate patient access and reduce funding barriers.
- Represent the company in compliant interactions, offering value-added solutions to support access and reimbursement.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Visit HCPs together with commercial Key Account Managers, on a regular basis
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Medical and other internal teams to align on access priorities and ensure coordinated execution.
- Lead cross-functional projects that enhance regional access and create win-win solutions with stakeholders.
- Provide tools, training, and insights to support field teams in overcoming market access barriers and pricing concerns of HCPs.
Data, Insights & Policy Monitoring
- Monitor and analyze regional healthcare developments, policy changes, and reimbursement trends.
- Collect and interpret local data to inform strategic planning and tactical execution.
- Share insights with internal teams to optimize market access approaches and anticipate challenges.
Communication & Training
- Develop and deliver training presentations for sales teams and external stakeholders on relevant health policy, pricing, and reimbursement topics, tailored to specialty cardiology issues.
- Create and adapt materials that communicate the value of innovative specialty care products in a way that resonates with regional stakeholders.
- Present complex market access topics in a clear, audience-appropriate format at internal and external events.
Project & Event Management
- Plan, manage, and monitor regional projects, including contracts and agreements with payers, in coordination with the DACH Management Team.
