Job Title:  Master Tech II

 

SUMMARY

Provide leadership and maintains, installs, diagnoses, repairs, and monitors HVAC equipment, boilers, air compressors, water treatment, lint systems, fire protection equipment, and utilities in the plant structure in accordance with blueprints, industry standards, manuals, and electrical or environmental codes.

• Meet all requirements of Master Tech I.
• Direct and train HVAC Technicians to perform all job elements applicable to their job titles.
• Demonstrate the ability to modify, install, and correct HVAC problems on any equipment or machinery in the plant with creative ability to get the machinery and equipment back in safe operating condition in a timely manner.
• Diagnoses, repairs, replaces, adjusts, installs, and monitors controls on has fired boilers, chillers, and associated components.
• Performs predictive/preventive maintenance on air conditioning, heating, chiller, boiler, and oil heating equipment.
• Have a good working knowledge of airflow systems and the control of negative and positive pressure.
• Technician can perform basic mechanical analysis and maintenance on mechanical drive systems and troubleshoot on multiple electrical systems.
• Possess an advanced working knowledge of HVAC and boiler equipment and systems.
• Has the ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, hydronic systems, and all other HVAC equipment.
• Demonstrate advanced trouble shooting skills on HVAC equipment, steam boilers and thermal fluid (oil) heaters.
• Does layout and installs all types of piping and plumbing equipment.
• Work with vendors as directed by supervisor.
• Sizes, selects, and installs HVAC and combustion equipment.
• Exercises discretionary judgement in the execution of problem solving.
• Follows all safety procedures, maintains good housekeeping in the work area, performs other tasks as directed.
• Exercises leadership and project management skills and abilities.
• Operates mobile equipment (fork trucks, personnel lifts, etc.)
• Performs additional duties as requested, needed, or assigned.
