Summary: The Project Engineer is an essential member of the Project Realization team, responsible for managing and providing the necessary engineering details to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions that meet all relevant standards. This role involves developing engineered solutions from customer commitment through to implementation and handover, ensuring that system designs comply with current legislation. The Project Engineer plays a key part in ensuring that projects are executed effectively and in full compliance with industry regulations.

Before You Apply

 In this role, you’ll start with an immersive 18-month training program based in Europe, visiting multiple TGW sites and gaining hands-on experience. The initial four months will be structured training abroad, followed by active involvement in pilot projects across the U.S. You will be instrumental in delivering major projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams across global locations. This position requires a high level of travel, primarily internal within TGW and customer sites.

Our ideal candidate:

•    Proven experience managing large-scale, high-value projects
•    A background in automation, warehousing, or logistics
•    Amazon project experience (preferred)
•    U.S. Citizenship or Green Card
•    Residency in Michigan or the East Coast

Required Qualifications:
•    Associate’s degree in engineering or similar field
•    Proficient CAD user
•    Strong experience with MS Office, including Excel and Project
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Ability to work with precision and follow structured methods
•    Travel up to 25% both domestic and international including a 4-month training Abroad
 

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Cost awareness
•    Experience in a similar role, ideally within a Materials Handling environment
•    Experience with completing 3D layouts

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Review the operational feasibility of designs to ensure they meet project requirements and constraints.
•    Identify opportunities for added value and cost-saving measures for TGW.
•    Prepare system layouts and General Arrangements (GAs) for project implementation.
•    Develop site installation packs to ensure smooth execution of on-site work.
•    Create detailed specifications and design documents for project clarity and guidance.
•    Review equipment designs and specifications to ensure standardization across all projects.
•    Ensure the appropriate selection and use of TGW equipment, managing the technical detail engineering.
•    Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department to enhance efficiency.
•    Review equipment throughputs and capacities to ensure optimal system performance.
•    Prepare the technical section of Invitations to Tender (ITT’s).
•    Conduct technical analysis of tender returns to ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.
•    Develop and review design risk assessments to ensure compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
•    Maintain knowledge of local authority regulations and ensure designs adhere to relevant BS/EN standards.
•    Participate in regular design team reviews, project reviews, and customer meetings, preparing clear and concise meeting minutes.
•    Conduct site surveys and oversee installations to ensure design integrity and project success.
•    Manage general project documentation and ensure it is up-to-date and accurate.
•    Assist in the preparation of Health & Safety and technical files for projects.
•    Provide technical sales support to assist in meeting customer needs and expectations.
•    Continuously review and develop departmental processes to drive improvements in efficiency and project execution.
•    Conduct design reviews and validate designs to ensure compliance with CE / UKCA marking requirements.
