About this role

Carrier’s Residential Fire and Security Division is searching for a Senior-Level Product Compliance Engineer to join the Product Safety and Compliance team.  In this position, you will have responsibility for tracking and understanding the North American compliance requirements for Residential Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors, Alarms, and Fire Extinguishers.  You will communicate the requirements to stakeholders within the company and work with external test labs to obtain and maintain certification of these products.   Other duties may include understanding and tracking packaging and battery requirements and representing producers on UL standards development committees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement process improvements and projects to increase team productivity.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work to the team in cooperation with the manager to manage workload and projects.
  • Provide timely and appropriate resolutions to escalations of functions supported.
  • Manage information and applicable supporting documents, including compliance certificates, vendor DoCs and other applicable documents for product registration, in different compliance databases.
  • Manage both internal and external customer requests, which includes the preparation and provision of compliance certificates and technical assistance on substance-based regulations.
  • Works autonomously with limited oversight while managing large and complex projects and process improvements.
  • Professionally communicate with parties within and outside of the compliance department serving as a strong representative for our team and company.
  • Preparation of test plans, setting up product and testing at agency test labs
  • Represent company interests at UL Standards development and maintenance meetings.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in the regulatory or environmental compliance field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft suite of collaborative tools such as Sharepoint, PowerBi, and Power Automate
  • Knowledge of PDXpert, Oracle, and/or Jira
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Innovative out-of-box thinker with a high aptitude and preference for data collection and analysis automation
