Pastry Cook / Baker

Come and join us!   Reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef, the pastry chef works with a small team of 6 to create all of the delectable desserts and breads that we provide to our Members.    This is a full-time AM & PM position. Scheduled days are typically Tuesday – Sunday with two days off per week. $16.00 - $17.00 Depending on Experience - Excellent Benefits - Distinctive Employee Amenities - Free meals   Duties and Responsibilities

• Executes banquet events of up to 500 people.
• Prepares all baked goods, pastries and other bakery items per production.
• Oversees pastry cart and buffet dessert table set-up and presentation.
• Helps maintain the cleanliness of bake shop.
• Schedules production of baked goods to maintain an inventory of freshly baked goods at all times.
• Prepares and serves items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards.
• Sets up, maintains and breaks down work station.
• Notifies Executive Pastry Chef in advance of expected product shortages.
• Requisitions supplies as needed to prepare menu items.
• Ensures that work area is safe and secure.
• Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times.
• Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations.
• Maintains the highest sanitary conditions.

Qualifications and Personal Characteristics

• 3-5 years’ experience in a from scratch production bakery.
• At least 1 years’ experience managing a shift/supervising small team.
• Fluent English speaker
• Able to take direction well from supervisors. Responds well to suggestions from others.
• Able to focus on timing, organization and sanitation.
• Detail-oriented – you understand that the little things count.
• Follows established processes.
• Is cool under pressure.
• Acts with the Members in mind. Naturally able to anticipate the needs/wants of Members.
• Is a timely and effective communicator to Members and co-workers.
• Texas Food Handler Certified.
