This role is a HYBRID position requiring frequent on-site work. Must be within a commutable distance.

Epic certification preferred; if not certified, must become Epic certified within 3 weeks of completing the mandatory Epic training sessions.

Must be available to travel for Epic training beginning the week of 3/31/2025. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field or higher is preferred.
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience working with Epic systems or similar EHR platforms preferably in interface analysis or a related field. 
  • High School diploma with 7 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
  • Epic Bridges Certification preferred.

Primary Function:

The primary function of the Bridges Interface Engineer role is to design, lead and manage the implementation and support of assigned interfaces. This includes leading analysis sessions to identify business needs, overseeing and creating technical designs, and managing issue triage necessary to implement and support these interfaces across the healthcare organization. The role involves collaborating and coordinating with interface project managers, application teams, and technical teams to ensure that interfaces meet the needs of end users. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, lead, and manage the entire implementation cycle of interfaces, web services, and industry-standard APIs (such as FHIR), including analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live, and support. 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with application teams, subject matter experts, and third-party application experts to determine business needs, document requirements, and configure interfaces per the requirements. Partner with these groups to diagnose and resolve interface-related issues and support ongoing application projects as needed. 
  • Troubleshoot and design system interfaces. Recommend and implement creative HL7 solutions to meet complex workflow needs.
  • Remains up to date on industry standards and recommendations for system to system communications. Adheres to industry and ChristianaCare best practices. Analyze, review, triage, and resolve day-to-day interface errors, including coordinating with technical teams, application teams, and third-party system representatives as necessary.
