Sentara Princess Anne Hospital is hiring a Temporary Internal Traveler 4th floor Med/surg unit
  • $70/hr AND Potential $5,000 Bonus
  • Eligible for $5000 Sign on Bonus living more than 50 miles from the facility working.

  • MUST have AT LEAST 2 yrs of recent Med/surg inpatient bedside RN experience

Our patient population in our 20-bed unit is diverse and includes but is not limited to CHF, Sickle Cell, Renal Failure, Diabetes, Vascular, Sepsis, COPD, Pneumonia, Osteomyelitis w/ Surgical Intervention, Wound Care, and varying disease processes. The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, located in Virginia Beach, VA, is a Magnet Status, general medical and surgical facility with 160 beds. The hospital offers a full-service emergency room with a dedicated observation unit, Critical Care, Oncology and Stroke services.  It also encompasses a Family Maternity Center with an On-site Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Job Summary

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications:

N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-3YR - RN-Diploma (Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Registered Nurse (RN) Multi State - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP), Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - North Carolina, Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP)
