The Opportunity 

 

This position will be responsible for formulating nutrient premix based on customers’ request. Incumbent will support short term and long term innovation activities for both distribution and premix business.  Participate in ideation, new ingredient and technology evaluation and recommendation, and provide technical guidance internally and externally and follow through with technically sound resolution. Manage and prioritize technical projects and lead technical presentations and discussions with customers. This permanent position will report to the VP, R&D, Premix.

 

• The Senior Innovation Scientist will be responsible for innovation for both distribution and premix business, including identifying and evaluating new ingredients, and providing an ongoing flow of new technology from internal and external sources to the technical and marketing staff to promote competitive advantages for the business.
• This individual would be able to manage both short term and long term technical and innovation projects and prioritizes with the highest quality service within expected time frames and cost target.
• This individual would be able to provide creative ideas for expanding our value and profits to our customers and differentiating our company from the competition.
• This individual would lead concept development, and coordinate the development and production of finished products for tradeshows and business meetings.
• This individual would provide technical guidance to the technical staff and contribute to the development of business objectives for the department of innovation. 
• This individual would be a technical liaison with sales and our customers with respect to solving product problems and challenges by analyzing problems, suggesting solutions, and following through on successful completion and resolution.
• The Senior Innovation Scientist will be responsible for the introduction of new ingredients and new technology to our key customers through business meetings, presentations at tradeshows, media events etc.
• The Senior Innovation Scientist would be required to develop strong relationship with the appropriate contacts internally and externally to help strengthen and support business.
• This individual would possess a strong sense of leadership to accomplish project/business objectives and be able to manage projects independently or in a team environment.
• This individual would be able to write articles for publication on Glanbia products that would further demonstrate Glanbia Nutritionals its technical expertise to the market. 

 

The Skills you will bring to the team 

• Minimum of a Bachelors Science degree
• Interest in nutritional ingredients, food, beverage and nutraceuticals
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.
• Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), to include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with the utmost
