Project Overview:

The ML2 Project involves the design and construction of a launch platform for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The purpose of ML2, located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), is to provide a launch platform for the Space Launch System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s need for deep space missions. ML2 includes many different subsystems that must operate and fit within the constraints of the structure and provide physical interface with KSC launch sites’ ground systems. 

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide knowledge, expertise, input, training, and consultative support for a discipline or process required for facility commissioning and startup. You will participate in work planning and packaging, turnover coordination, material management and quantities, quality control, and environmental safety and health. Major Responsibilities:

Specialization & Expertise:

• The Lead Electrical Startup Engineer will support plant start-up and commissioning process. The lead will be responsible for managing electrical commissioning, including assigning systems and responsibilities to the electrical startup engineers under his/her direction. This will require coordinating with mechanical, instrumentation and control systems disciplines within the startup organization to complete all required testing from component level through integrated operation with the rest of the facility.
• Completes testing per Bechtel Corporate Standard Test and Commissioning Procedures (STCP) and Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPP), project-specific, and other procedures. Review and approve completed test records, data sheets, and procedures etc. to fully document testing activities performed by the Electrical team, including subcontractors and technical advisors.

Work Planning & Packaging:

• Analyzes assigned activities to determine the scope, time, and resource requirements 
• Plans and schedules CSU execution activities including sequence and resource requirements for assigned areas of responsibility typically including complex evolution across multiple disciplines and functions 
• Prepares energization and synchronization procedures, work packages, and training plans, populating quantity database, reviewing engineering design, procurement documentation, spare parts, and vendor submittals.
