Appraisal Operations Officer

Overview

The Appraisal Operations Officer assists the Appraisal Department Manager with managing the overall activities and daily functions of the Appraisal Department.  

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for managing the development and oversight of appraisal data collection and quality control processes.   Reviews all internal appraisal reviews for completeness and compliance with established standards and procedures, USPAP and regulatory requirements.   Performs market statistics indicating trends in real estate.   Maintains an Appraiser scorecard and monitors the independence and quality of appraisals and property valuations for the origination process.  Ensures that regulatory and real estate collateral risk is minimized.    Responsible for informing the Senior Management Team on potential softening or strengthening of the real estate markets.  Must maintain current and up-to-date with both industry and bank regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field of study such as Business, Banking or Finance and a minimum of six (6) years of Real estate or General Market & Appraisal experience is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must demonstrate familiarity and understanding of alternative valuation products such as AVM, Fraud and Risk Modeling and Broker Price Opinions.
• Must have a general understanding of USPAP and Regulatory Banking requirements as they relate to the appraisal area/function.
• Must be able to understand and implement job related policies and procedures.
• Must have excellent project and time management skills.
• Must possess excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficient in MS Software, (e.g. Excel, Word, and Outlook).
