ENGIEAbout the role
As our Shift Supervisor reporting to the Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all current and future ENGIE operated utility plants and systems on the Ohio State University campus. The utility plants and systems will include natural gas/oil fired boilers, turbines, emergency diesel generators, chillers, air compressors, pumps, electric motors, fans, piping systems, and water treatment.
You will:
- Ensure the safe operation of Stationary Engineers and Assistant Stationary Engineers reporting to you
- Assign job rotations for your crew and work tasks to be completed throughout the shift
- Evaluate your crew’s performance and train employees based on training needs
- Operate utility plant equipment to adhere to safety and environmental regulations and customer performance standards
- Monitor plant control systems for the efficient operation of boilers, chillers, and associated utility equipment to ensure key performance indicators are met
- Enforce safety policies and procedures for PPE, Job Safety Plans, LOTO, Hot Work Permits, and Confined Space Permits
- Document and address employee performance issues and issue corrective actions
- Trouble shoot and perform root cause analysis to prepare reports and logs on equipment problems, outages, and upsets occurring
- Collaborate with other plant departments such as Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), electrical, maintenance, capital projects, and contractors to maintain safe and reliable operations
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent education
- You Must have a valid State of Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer License
- A minimum one (1) year of experience in steam/power plant operations and control systems associated with utility plants
Additional Details
- This role requires daily attendance at a worksite
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (6PM-6AM), every other weekend, and holidays
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to operate company car across campus
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, balance, sit, climb stairs and ladders, stoop, squat, crouch, crawl, kneel, reach, grasp, push, and pull
Compensation
Hourly Range: $41.68 – $45.20 USD
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
