We are now looking for a

Process and Production Engineering Manager

To join our factory in Emmen, Netherlands. Our main products in Emmen are Installation Cables, Building Wire, Heavy Low Voltage, and several types of Compounds. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing processes within our factory. You will lead a team that consists of three Process Engineers, three Technicians, and one Continuous Improvement Engineer. You report directly to the Plant Director, and you are part of the management team. You are responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering activities within the manufacturing facility, ensuring your team supports production that meets quality standards, production schedules, and cost objectives.

We offer you a role in one of the largest factories within Prysmian in our category. We produce around 27.000 tons of cable and 35.000 tons of compound. Your role is also very versatile, and no two days are ever the same when you work with a variety of products and processes. You can create a wide network and collaborate with various departments to improve processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety. This includes a long-term plan for preventative maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new products or processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Monitor and analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
  • Manage and oversee the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.
  • Develop and manage the investment budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes, and equipment including assembly methods, machining, fabrication, and automation.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and compliance in manufacturing operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving goals and objectives.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements and optimization.
  • Fluency in oral and verbal English language is required and Dutch language knowledge
