Sentara Health is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Cath Holding area at Sentara Careplex Hospital located in Hampton, Virginia. This is a full time, day shift position. This position requires “on-call” with a response time of 30 minutes. No holidays. Some weekends required.

Job Description:

• Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department.

• Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff.

• Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Job Requirements:

• Education: BSN required; MSN preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.

• Licensure: RN licensure required. BLS within 90 days of hire.

• Experience: 18 months nursing experience required.

Job Summary

18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Qualifications:

N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree (Required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - North Carolina, Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP), Registered Nurse License (RN) - Nursing License - Compact/Multi-State License
