Job Description

To lead the quality team for your shift in the inspection of materials.  Ensuring reaction to out of specification conditions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure continuous control over materials and products
  • Works with Quality Supervisor to ensure coverage on shift
  • Makes quality calls on suspect materials
  • Reviews control of nonconformance material disposition and inspection of reworked product
  • Contributes in minimizing internal and external sort cost activities
  • Trouble-shoot and problem solve on the production floor when needed
  • Drive Internal quality control requirements (boundary sample boards, hourly check sheets, work instructions, operator visuals, lot-control, defect accumulation sheets)
  • Work with Manufacturing to insure all necessary paperwork for each program is accurate, in place and understood by the team
  • First Piece sign off on setup approvals
  • SPC data collection         
  • Assist manufacturing engineers with RPN reduction - enhancing our PFMEAs and Control Plans based on lessons learned               
  • Safety       
  • Contribute to the Company Quality Objectives

Qualifications

  • 3+ years manufacturing experience in roles of Operations or Supervision preferred
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Computer Skills – MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Root cause analysis techniques
  • Good measuring skills
  • Able to read a blue print and differentiate colors
  • Must be able to work in a team or individual environment
  • Self-motivated individual
  • Must have the ability to pay attention to detail
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift, including overtime and weekends

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle, frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or craw in or under machines. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Must be able to push and pull molds w/mechanical help. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
