About the role

As Regional Water Management Officer within the Agriculture and Water Branch in Launceston, you will manage water resources in Tasmania.

• Coordinate programs and provide education to irrigators and stakeholders.
• Undertake compliance and enforcement actions.
• Provide advice on applications for dams, water allocations, and water management.
• Develop initiatives and projects, to ensure continuous improvement, reduced cost, increased agricultural production, and balance of water resources.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Desirable requirements

• A Diploma in civil engineering, natural resource management, agriculture or water management, or equivalent level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
• Several years of relevant experience in water engineering or water resource management.
• A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
• A Workplace 2 First Aid Certificate, or equivalent.
