What You Will Do

East Hartford Repair Operations (EHRO) has an opportunity for an Operations Manager(Cell Leader - M4) within the Connecticut Rotating Parts (CTRP) Shared Services team. As the CTRP Induction Cell Leader, the incumbent will report directly to the Connecticut Rotating Parts (CTRP) Shared Services Operations Manager and lead a team of shop floor inspectors and operators. The successful candidate will play a key role in not only the day-to-day leadership of the shop floor, but in introducing new and innovative critical cleaning, blasting, and inspection techniques to support P&W products around the world.  This role is a business ownership role within CTRP that drives the success of the entire shop.  Successful candidates in this role enjoy working with their hands in a dynamic machine shop environment and solving complex problems daily.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the CTRP Induction Cell, where 100% of CTRP parts and many CTSC parts flow to be cleaned, inspected, and prepared for work scoping for the repair process

• Establish processes to support part prioritization & flow through shop, and create lasting success for the Induction Cell in support of home cell targets of Quality, Cost, and Delivery

• Coach and Train the team of Induction employees to grow their technical and lean manufacturing skills

• Manage projects and lead the Induction Cell business, using lean manufacturing and quality improvement efforts

• Partner with Induction Cell Engineering to build a “world class” Induction business by implementing robust processes that can weather the dynamic aftermarket environment

• Identify opportunities to introduce innovative technologies, update legacy processes, and improve the safety of our employees in a high-risk area

• Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Materials, and Facilities Teams across EHRO & East Hartford in order to drive production and reduce product turnaround time

• Drive execution of tasks related to Compliance & Safety of operations

Qualifications You Must Have

• Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Military, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Aviation industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate's degree and 10+ of relevant industry experience; OR High School / Tech School diploma and 12+ relevant industry experience

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. 

Qualifications We Prefer

• Degree in STEM field; Engineering preferred.

• Personnel management experience, particularly within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment.

• Proven ability to lead mentoring, coaching, developing talent and motivate teams to achieve business goals.

• Engineering experience or working knowledge of shop practices, processes, procedures and machinery.

• Ability to read and interpret technical data, blueprints, and engineering drawings.

• Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.

• Track record of problem solving in a fast-paced environment
