Principal Software Engineer

Job Description

Procore is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Ecosystem Division. Ecosystem connects customers, partners, and software developers through APIs and application integrations. In this role, you'll collaborate with 2 talented tripods on problems such as integrating 3rd party apps into our platform, revamping our Marketplace, scaling API practice for a few hundred internal developers, and implementing a quota management solution on the edge. The ideal candidate is an experienced SaaS technologist who can go deep into various API paradigms and integration technologies.  

This position will report to the Director of Engineering, Ecosystem, and has the opportunity to work remotely from a U.S. location or in our Carpinteria, CA, New York, NY, or Austin, TX office. We're looking for someone to join our team immediately.

What you'll do:

As the company is accelerating the shift to microservices, you will:

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product managers on API and Apps integration strategies and practices
• Be a technical bar-raiser for production-ready software, architectural designs, and long-term approaches.
• Modernize our tech stack and build new features with your teammates. This is a hands-on position.
• Coach and mentor engineers and help them grow.

What we're looking for:

• A pragmatic engineering leader with a record of taking a holistic approach to technical problems and seeing them to completion.
• A polyglot with 15+ years of industry experience, a recent focus on SaaS development
• A great communicator who can advocate and influence technical approach 
• Experience in some of the following areas:
  • Event Driven & Streaming architecture
  • API Federation/GraphQL
  • B2B Marketplace 
  • Technologies/Languages: Apache Flink (Stateful Function), Apollo (Server), API-Gateway technologies, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, Java, Go, Elixir.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range $173,600-$238,700. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Eligible for Equity Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
