Job Description
The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the availability of spare parts and industrial gases to support ongoing manufacturing and maintenance operations. This position manages inventory planning parameters, monitors material levels, and creates purchase requisitions in Oracle Cloud. The role also oversees the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for part number creation and changes, working closely with Engineering and Procurement to ensure accurate setup, pricing, and lifecycle management of materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and maintain adequate inventory levels for spare parts and industrial gases to support operational requirements.
- Manage and optimize min/max levels and other planning parameters in Oracle Cloud.
- Create and manage purchase requisitions and ensure timely follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor and coordinate part deliveries to ensure alignment with the quarterly material forecast spend and operational schedules.
- Lead the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for part number creation, updates, and end-of-life management.
- Collaborate with Engineering to support new or special part requests and ensure accurate part setup in the system.
- Partner with Procurement to address pricing, sourcing, and supplier related issues.
- Analyze consumption data and recommend adjustments to planning parameters to improve supply reliability and inventory performance.
- Support internal audits and compliance initiatives related to material control and planning processes.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in planning accuracy, system utilization, and process efficiency.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in material planning, production planning, or inventory management in a manufacturing or maintenance support environment.
- Proficiency in Oracle Cloud or equivalent ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including min/max planning, safety stock, and lead time management.
- Experience working with Engineering Change Notice (ECN) or similar change control processes.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related analytical tools.
PREFFERED:
- Experience with spare parts or indirect materials planning.
- Familiarity with industrial gas management and vendor coordination.
