JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager, Program Management is a key member of the Women’s Health PMO team, the “go to” team to lead strategic complex initiatives. Through your expertise in project and program management, your leadership skills, and your broad-based business experience, you will deliver the cross-functional initiatives critical to growing and scaling our business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage highly complex cross-functional programs end-to-end, including all commercial and operational workstreams, from charter to closure. Programs will cover an array of subject matters and disciplines including product innovation and renovation and business integration, transformation, and optimization. The Sr. Manager will ensure programs are delivered on time, on specification, and on budget and deliver expected business value by:
- Navigating, managing and influencing complex stakeholder environments, including defining project governance structures and facilitating decision making
- Working with stakeholders to shape, clarify, and align program objectives and success criteria
- Building robust cross-functional plans to deliver program objectives, including timeline, budget, and deliverable specifications
- Defining resource needs (people, dollars, assets), securing them from resource owners, escalating gaps, and clarifying roles and responsibilities (leveraging RACI or something similar)
- Engaging, aligning, motivating, and leading teams of cross-functional leaders to successfully deliver the program plan and objectives
- Leading proactive identification and management of opportunities and risks and effective resolution of issues
- Clearly and transparently communicating program information to enable effective and timely stakeholder informs, consults, and decisions
- Managing external partners and suppliers, integrating their activities and timing into the overall program plan and holding them accountable to deliver
Manage project portfolios to deliver expected business value by:
- Working with stakeholders to shape, clarify, and align portfolio objectives within larger business and organizational strategies and objectives
- Building approaches and tools for defining portfolio resource requirements and assessing versus organizational capacity
- Building approaches and processes for project prioritization and resource decision making
- Building tools and routines to clearly and transparently communicate program status
Strengthen project management capability within the PMO team and broader Women’s Health organization by:
- Leading, coaching, and developing project managers through either direct supervision or mentorship
- Establishing project management standards and best practices and building and sharing project management tools and techniques
COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
Project and program management:
- Expert abilities in project management knowledge areas (e.g., requirements management, schedule management, risk management, etc.) and process groups (i.e., initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing); PMP (Project Management Professional) certification a plus
- Strong abilities in Agile methodologies and Scrum framework; Agile certifications a plus
- Can manage high complexity programs with autonomy, creating order out of chaos and breaking the inertia of highly ambiguous situations to drive projects and teams forward
- Lives simultaneously in the details and big picture, helping the team to pivot between them
- Can lead initiatives to build and implement processes where none exist, including piloting new methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, ClickUp, MS Project, etc.)
