The Team

The Global Health (GH) Division harnesses advances in science and technology to save lives in low- and middle-income countries. We focus on the health problems that have a major impact in developing countries but get too little attention and funding. Where tools exist, we support sustainable ways to improve their delivery. Where they don’t, we invest in research and development of new interventions, such as vaccines, drugs, and diagnostics. Our work in infectious diseases focuses on strategies to fight and prevent HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, enteric and diarrheal diseases, pneumonia, and maternal, newborn and child health. These strategies are supported by functional & cross cutting teams that focus on Discovery and Translational Sciences, Vaccine Development, Innovation Introduction, and Integrated Development.

The HIV Delivery strategy aims to reduce HIV incidence and mortality by:
• Integrating product introduction and delivery functions to streamline uptake of innovations.
• Strengthening regional capacity, with a focus on South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe, led by country governments and in partnership with other stakeholders.
• Partnering closely with data and analytics experts to inform decisions and monitor progress at global, national and sub-national levels.
• Enhancing accountability and operational efficiency across our investment portfolio.

Your Role

The Senior Program Officer for HIV Delivery will play a critical role overseeing a complex HIV delivery portfolio, including grants to multilateral organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the Global Fund (GF), and other key implementing partners. Reporting to the Director, HIV and TB Delivery, you will ensure programmatic momentum, financial stewardship, stakeholder engagement, and strategic alignment particularly for work in Malawi and Zimbabwe.

*This is a 12-month limited-term position. Relocation will not be provided.

What You’ll Do

Grant Management & Portfolio Continuity

• Lead the management of an assigned portfolio of HIV prevention and treatment grants, including those with WHO, the GF, and other global and country-level partners.

• Ensure the timely development and processing of investment memos, grant amendments, payments, and performance reports in alignment with Foundation policies and procedures.

• Monitor grant performance, budgets, milestones, and risks; proactively identify and mitigate issues.

• Provide strategic stewardship of complex, multi-country, and multi-stakeholder grants.

Grantee & Partner Engagement

• Serve as the primary point of contact for designated grantees during the transition period.

• Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with multilateral partners (e.g., WHO, GF) and implementing organizations.

• Lead regular portfolio reviews and strategic discussions to ensure alignment with Foundation priorities.

• Ensure consistent communication regarding expectations, deliverables, and timelines.

Government & Stakeholder Coordination

• Engage with Ministries of Health and national HIV program leadership in Malawi and Zimbabwe, and in other countries as needed, in coordination with country office staff and cross-functional teams.

• Support alignment of Foundation-funded activities with national HIV strategies, GF grants, and broader donor investments.

• Represent the HIV Delivery PST in internal and selected external engagements, as appropriate.

Technical Leadership (Prevention & Treatment)

• Provide senior-level technical input across HIV prevention and treatment portfolios, including differentiated service deli
