The Role

The Procurement Contracts Operations Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping, governing, and continuously improving a scalable, risk-aligned procurement contracting delivery operating model in close partnership with Procurement, Legal, and other risk stakeholders. This role provides enterprise-level oversight of contract lifecycle management, commercial risk enablement, and global contract performance across the Global Procurement Organization.

  • Lead and optimize end-to-end Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) processes, including intake, drafting, negotiation, approvals, execution, amendments, renewals, and contract close-out, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
  • Operationalize Legal-approved frameworks through standardized contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks, approved negotiation parameters and clearly defined escalation criteria and guidance.
  • Embed contracting standards into sourcing and category strategies in collaboration with Category Management and Strategic Sourcing teams.
  • Act as the procedural escalation point to ensure non-standard terms and negotiation issues are identified and routed to Legal in accordance with defined thresholds, with substantive legal review and decision-making remaining with Legal.
  • Lead the end-to-end strategy for low-dollar, low-risk deals, including eligibility criteria, standardized workflows, and clear, enforced handoffs between Procurement, BPO teams, and Legal.
  • Establish governance, reporting, and analytics across the contract lifecycle to support compliance, risk management, and executive decision-making.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Compliance to support internal and external audits, SOX controls, regulatory reviews, and due diligence activities.
  • Provide strategic oversight of the Procurement BPO contracting operating model, including delivery teams based in the Philippines, India and Guatemala.
  • Partner with Procurement teams and BPO leadership to align scope of services with procurement priorities and legal-defined risk requirements, ensuring low-risk work is executed independently of Legal.
  • Develop, manage, and continuously refine SLAs and performance metrics covering quality, cycle time, compliance, escalation effectiveness, and stakeholder experience.
  • Monitor contracting performance against SLAs, identify trends and root causes, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives, including retraining, scope adjustment, or guidance updates where needed.
  • Promote standardization, documentation, and knowledge transfer to improve scalability, resilience, and continuity.
  • Act as a primary escalation and resolution point for contract execution issues audit findings, SLA breaches, and remediation efforts, preventing unnecessary escalation to Legal for low-risk or administrative matters.
  • Enable and coach Procurement teams on contracting process discipline, execution standards, and consistent use of Legal-approved playbooks and workflows, including negotiation sequencing and escalation mechanics, without providing substantive legal interpretation or risk advice.
  • Contribute to long-term procurement contracting and operating strategies aligned to business growth and regulatory complexity, in partnership with Legal and other risk owners.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional initiatives and ad hoc programs that advance broader procurement and enterprise objectives, with clear role delineation between operational execution and legal judgment.
