About the role

The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for leading the analysis, design, and implementation of business processes and technology solutions within Enterprise Systems. This role ensures high-quality support services are provided for both functional and technical responsibilities with an emphasis on supporting the Finance and Administration area. This position takes a proactive approach in requirements gathering, documentation, customer support, training, problem-solving, and other tasks defined by leadership to ensure solutions meet technical standards and business process needs. This senior-level position requires a blend of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and effective communication to bridge the gap between business needs and technological solutions.

Enterprise Systems Support

• Functional & Technical Assistance: Provides high quality functional and technical support for areas, processes, and technologies managed by the Enterprise Systems teams; serves as a primary point of contact for offices, processes, third-party vendors, and technology partners

• Operational Reporting: Assists customers in meeting their operational reporting needs through writing complex SQL queries and performing advanced analysis.

• Problem-Solving: Performs in-depth problem analysis, outlines resolution options, and takes appropriate actions to resolve highly complex problems independently.

• Training: Provides guidance and training to junior staff around business process analysis, higher education operations, customer service, and project support

 

Solution Implementations & Process Analysis

• Serves as a lead analyst on large-scale projects such as the DASH Oracle ERP and SIS implementations

• Project Collaboration & Coordination: Leads efforts to work with customers, technical staff, and management to gather requirements, develops estimates and develops overall implementation plans; directs project team members and junior staff efforts

• Analysis and Recommendations: Conducts analysis of current business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement; assists in making technology recommendations aligned with organizational goals

• Communication: Facilitates communication between business units, IT teams, and other stakeholders

• Solution Development & Testing: Designs and implements business process improvement solutions; directly performs development, documentation, and testing of components and any other steps required for a solution or software implementation

 

Finance and Administration Support

• Provides day-to-day technical and functional support to the Finance and Administration division

• Manages specific budgets and accounts reconciliation in the DASH ERP as assigned

• Independently prepares financial reports as assigned from the ERP or SIS

• Provides assistance and training to campus for reporting in the Oracle ERPs

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Strong knowledge of SQL

• Aptitude for technical support and business process solution development in ERP systems

• Extensive knowledge of policies and procedures of university offices

• Knowledge of financial reporting and budget operations

• Strong skills in research and analysis, project planning, and implementation

• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors

• Excellent decision-making, time-management, and planning skills

•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a willingness to learn

•  Effective customer service skills to engage customers, resolve issues with a sense of urgency, communicate in a timely manner, and provide clear documentation and training materials

• Ability to be an enthusiastic and resourceful team member

• Ability to be a self-starter and motivated to move projects forward

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a highly demanding environment

Minimum: Requires a bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 

Preferred: A master’s degree; five years of experience working directly with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; experience supporting areas of Budget & Finance, Human Resources, or Student Information Systems; experience developing with enterprise reporting tools like Argos or Cognos; and three years’ experience working on business process imp
