About the role

Hi, we’re TechnologyAdvice.

At TechnologyAdvice, we pride ourselves on helping B2B tech buyers manage the complexity and risk of the buying process. We are a trusted source of information for tech buyers, delivering advice and facilitating connections between our buyers and the world’s leading sellers of business technology.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, we are a remote-first company with more than 20 digital publications and over 500 global team members in the US, UK, Singapore, Australia, and the Philippines. We’re proud to have been repeatedly recognized as one of America’s fastest growing private companies by Inc., as well as a Tennessee top workplace. We work hard each day and have fun, too, with monthly virtual events, recreational slack channels, and the occasional costumed dance from our CEO.

All positions are open to remote work unless otherwise specified in the requirements below.

The opportunity

TechnologyAdvice is looking for an Email Marketing Manager to lead the strategy, execution, and growth of our email programs across a portfolio of high-impact newsletters and media brands.

This role sits at the center of our audience development strategy and plays a critical role in growing and engaging our subscriber base while supporting newsletter monetization. You will oversee the full lifecycle of our email marketing—from attracting and onboarding new subscribers to increasing engagement, retention, and revenue opportunities through our newsletter ecosystem.

As part of the Audience Development team, you’ll collaborate closely with executives, editorial teams, AdOps, and marketing stakeholders to scale our newsletter portfolio and maximize the value of our email audience. This is a high-visibility role for a marketing leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on campaign execution and performance optimization.

Location: United States

What you'll do

  • Own and optimize subscriber acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies to grow and strengthen our newsletter audiences.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators across the email funnel, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead the planning and execution of lifecycle email campaigns, including onboarding, engagement, reactivation, and win-back programs.
  • Develop and refine segmentation strategies, behavioral targeting, and A/B testing frameworks to improve campaign performance.
  • Ensure all email campaigns align with brand voice, editorial standards, and design quality across our media brands.
  • Partner with editorial teams to create integrated, omnichannel campaigns informed by email engagement data.
  • Work closely with AdOps teams to support newsletter sponsorship placements and performance tracking.
  • Analyze email performance data and develop actionable insights to improve growth, engagement, and monetization outcomes.
  • Present campaign performance, growth insights, and strategic recommendations to executives and key stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, providing structure, feedback, and performance direction.

Who you are

  • 4+ years of experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, or newsletter publishing, with demonstrated ownership of program performance.
  • 1+ year of experience managing or mentoring team members, including providing guidance, setting priorities, and supporting performance and professional development.
  • Proven experience developing and executing email growth strategies that drive subscriber acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, Marketo, Sailthru, or similar tools.
  • Strong expertise in email segmentation, automation workflows, behavioral targeting, and A/B testing.
  • Ability to analyze campaign performance and translate insights from analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Looker, or similar BI platforms into actionable optimization strategies.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives with editorial, marketing, AdOps, or operations teams.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft high-performing email copy and calls-to-action that drive engagement and conversions.
  • Experience supporting newsletter monetization initiatives, including sponsorship integrations, advertising placements, or affiliate programs.
  • Familiarity with CRM integrations, customer data platforms (CDPs), or audience data tools used to inform targeting and segmentation strategies.
  • Comfortable presenting insights, strategies, and campaign results to executives
