Summary of Job Duties:

This UAMS Department of Orthopaedic Pediatric Primary Care Sports Medicine Assistant Professor position will be located in Central Arkansas and is a non-surgical physician specializes in the non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. The Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician can maximize non-operative treatment, guide appropriate referrals to physical and occupational therapies, and if necessary, expedite referral to an orthopedic/sports surgeon. They will treat patients for acute injuries (such as ankle sprains, muscle strains, knee & shoulder injuries, and fractures), overuse injuries (such as rotator cuff and other forms of tendonitis, stress fractures) and medical and injection therapies for osteoarthritis. The PCSM will treat patients to help them improve performance, enhance overall health, prevent injury and maintain their physical activity throughout their lives.

Qualifications:

• Valid state medical license as MD or DO
• Has obtained one year of additional fellowship training in Sports Medicine.
