Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) is seeking a Senior Manager of Cost Account Management (CAM) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leadership to lead execution across high-visibility Department of Defense programs. This role is designed for a proven leader who understands that disciplined Earned Value (EV) performance, strong cost account ownership, and rigorous program execution are foundational to mission success and national security outcomes. 

You will provide functional and operational leadership to a team of CAMs and IPTLs, ensuring disciplined application of Earned Value Management (EVM), accurate forecasting, and proactive variance management across complex development efforts. This role requires a leader who can translate program objectives into executable control account plans, drive performance accountability, and develop a high-performing team capable of managing scope, schedule, and cost in high-consequence environments. 

What You Will Do 

  • Lead and mentor CAMs and IPTLs accountable for control account performance. 

  • Establish EV standards, cadence, and tool synchronization across engineering, finance, and planning. 

  • Coach CAMs on baseline management, variance analysis, EAC development, and corrective actions. 

  • Oversee performance management, staffing, and succession planning to sustain organizational capability. 

  • Monitor baseline performance, manage cost and schedule risks, and drive recovery actions with clear execution metrics. 

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience 

  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Top Secret after start. 

  • Experience leading CAMs, IPTLs, or project engineers with scope, schedule, and cost accountability. 

  • Strong application of EV methods including baseline management, variance analysis, CPI/SPI interpretation, EAC forecasting, and corrective action planning. 

  • Experience managing control accounts in EV-compliant environments (e.g., ANSI-748). 

  • Experience managing workforce supply and demand, including staffing alignment to program needs. 

  • Strong understanding and application of rolling wave planning and detailed planning processes. 

 

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Earned Value certification.

  • Proven ability to strengthen EV discipline, improving forecast accuracy and execution predictability. 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, performance indices, and risk exposure.
