UCLA Health IT is looking for an outstanding Principal Cloud Architect and Engineer to join the Solutions Architecture and Engineering (SAE) group. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Cloud Architect and Engineer to lead and innovate our cloud infrastructure. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions, with a focus on core infrastructure, networking, firewall, security, analytics, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI).The Principal Cloud Architect and Engineer is responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and vision to define and implement the enterprise multi-cloud platform strategy while employing industry best practices to provide a secure, innovative, and cost-effective computing environment to solve some of the most demanding technical challenges in Healthcare. 

This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site at least three days a quarter and as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the “home office” location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.

Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $124,600 – $289,400 annually. The University anticipates offering a salary between the minimum and $180,000 annually.

• Bachelor of Computer Science or Equivalent (Engineering, Mathematics, IT) with relevant experience
• 15+ years of strong enterprise technology experience in both hands-on architecture and leadership roles
• 10+ years of experience (both on-premises and Cloud) designing, implementing, deploying and managing enterprise infrastructure, data management, software development, meeting security and regulatory requirements and data center build and operations
