Content Lead - Part Time Freelance

About this rolePaubox is looking for a freelance part-time Content Lead to join our remote marketing team. You’ll be working closely with our Head of Content, our writers, and, occasionally, the marketing team. In a nutshell, you’ll be proofreading, editing, and fact-checking articles submitted by our freelance writers before publishing the articles on our blog.

Commitment expectationsWe expect this role to start with a commitment of roughly three (3) hours a day, five days a week. As we scale our content in the coming months, the hours have the potential to increase.

Key responsibilities

• Fact-check and proofread articles before adding content to our content management platform.
• Establish, implement, and maintain consistent editorial standards, including voice, tone, perspective, and copy guidelines.
• Supervise all editorial content production and ensure the copy and visuals are meeting those standards.
• Support and collaborate on the overall content strategy, ensuring alignment across key stakeholders, initiatives, partnerships, and performance metrics.
• Occasionally write blog posts, customer interviews, or news stories.
• Mentor and motivate our freelance writers to produce high-quality content and meet core business goals.

What you'll bring

• You have 3+ years of experience in content development/management; a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing a plus!
• Familiarity with HIPAA, the healthcare industry, or cybersecurity is a big plus.
• You have a history of successfully managing small teams of 3 or more people.
• You foster a collaborative work environment via strong listening and communication skills.
• You have superior editing/writing skills and exceptional editorial judgment, including the ability to make tough calls in short turnaround times.
• You know how to produce and win with a content calendar and focused content campaigns.
• You have experience winning on SEO and building domain authority.
• Highly collaborative – able to build strong relationships with internal teams and external brands with a positive attitude.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong attention to detail.
