CCE of Albany County Environmental Health Educator – Voorheesville, NY

The Environmental Health Educator primarily delivers lead-based paint renovation, repair, and painting training, as well as lead abatement classes. The Educator delivers other environmental health programs as needed or assigned (e.g., radon, mold, indoor air quality, healthy homes, etc.). This position also tracks, prepares, and submits all required program documentation.

The Educator works as part of a flexible team - performing existing or new responsibilities which can change based on Association needs, new grant initiatives, etc.

Compensation is paid at the rate of $25.05 per hour and includes 21 Vacation days, 14 Holidays, 3 Personal days and 12 Sick days annually. Mileage for work related travel is reimbursed. This position requires US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certified Lead Renovator Certification or the ability to become certified within one month of hire and ability to become EPA approved Principal Instructor within six months of hire. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree. An Associate’s degree plus 2 years related experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

• US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certified Lead Renovator Certification or the ability to become certified within one month of hire and ability to become EPA approved Principal Instructor within six months of hire.

• Experience relevant to the role of the position.

• Ability to meet the frequent travel requirements associated with this position. A valid NYS driver’s license with the ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.

• Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends.

• Ability to effectively deliver assigned programs; meet program goals; and meet data collection and reporting requirements.

• Technology Skills - Microsoft Office suite, internet, and program related software.

• Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with staff, community leaders, program participants, and others.
