Duties and Role:

Join a highly-driven team of collaborators, doers and problem-solvers across the NATO enterprise who are committed to develop cutting-edge technologies. This position will directly impact NATO's space history and open a new chapter of leveraging the space domain for the benefit of the transatlantic Alliance. Key duties include:

• As part of a hardworking team, support the development of Alliance Persistent Surveillance from Space (APSS).
• Support to establish alignment of purpose between APSS and the NATO intelligence Enterprise stakeholders.
• Support JISD activity to ensure APSS processes are coherent with NATO Intelligence processes, systems and services, and either APSS processes or NIE processes are adapted to or meet the operational requirements to support APSS.
• On behalf of the ASG-I&S, support to develop in close coordination with IS-DI, NCIA and other stakeholders the Memorandum of Understanding for the APSS programme to be signed by Allies.
• Support the Programme of Work of the APSS Project.
• Liaise between NATO HQ and NCIA on ISR related matters.

Requirements

Skill, Knowledge & Experience:

• The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
• Hold a degree in the field of natural/computer science (data, information), electronics, business administration/development or crisis and security management;
• Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's abilities and track experience record in the field of intelligence, international security, Space, IMINT and GEOINT.
• Have a minimum of 5 years work/military experience in the private or public/military sector and in an international environment;
• Knowledge of NATO Intelligence and JISR cycle and processes (and processes added for the reasons of knowing how Nations provide contributions);
• Knowledge of Collection Management and Information Requirement processes;
• Knowledge on IMINT/GEOINT disciplines;
• Experience with ISR capability development procedures;
• Motivated professional with a demonstrated track record of pursuing and closing complex deals (in the private or public sector);
• Have experience or strong interest in space technologies;
• Strong and persuasive communication and negotiation skills;
• Comfortable performing in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Be proactive and show a high interest in learning and continuous improvement;
• Strong listening and communication skills in English.

It is desirable that the Consultant has the following skills/experience:

• Space or aerospace industry experience, engineering background in aerospace;
• Experience of working in an international environment, comprising both military and civilian staff;
• Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization;
• Self-starter, strong bias for action;
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
