Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Safety Enhancement Manager  (f/m) to join Airbus Customer Services based in Toulouse, France.

Task & accountabilities :

Within the Maintenance & Engineering function in Customer Services, you will join the Maintenance Safety Competence Team  and act as Safety Enhancement Domain Leader for Maintenance. 

Your focus will be related to Airline Maintenance & MRO activities, in particular all activities related to the planning, preparation and execution of the Maintenance tasks. This scope of work covers the aircraft products, services and all the organisational aspects related to the production of the Maintenance deliverables (Documentation, Tools, Services) under the responsibility of our organization and their implementation by the Operators.

In your daily activities, you will participate in the Aviation Safety activities related to the major Airbus process “Manage Product Safety”. You will contribute to the definition of appropriate risk prevention strategies and represent the Maintenance domain. 

In your role, you will :

 

• Implement the Safety goals and objectives in line with the Safety Management System (SMS) requirements set under the responsibility of the SMS Officer

• Participate to weekly Safety Coordination Meetings as permanent member,  and other Safety meetings on demand

• Lead or contribute to Multi-Functional Teams (MFT) in charge of Safety Enhancement development

• Lead or contribute to the investigations of SMS cases

• Capture potential safety threats and events affecting the product and the organisation

• Identify available mitigations (Aircraft documentation, Communications, Design improvements, etc..)

• Analyze and assess residual Safety risks related to in-service maintenance events

• Define and implement additional corrective & preventive actions

• Monitor the performance of the solutions once implemented

• Promote Safety via the publication of communication related to safety in Maintenance and the delivery of Safety awareness sessions within and outside Airbus

• Release safety enhancement recommendations to Engineering domain and future aircraft Programs

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in line with Project Management principles

• Occasional support to Annex 13 investigations

Your mission will require occasional travel (2 to 4 weeks per year)

Required technical skills :

Experience and knowledge on aircraft structure and systems

Knowledge of Technical Documentation, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Service Bulletin, Maintenance Program (MPD, ALS, MRBR) products, production tools and related processes 

Knowledge of Airlines Operations

Understanding of aviation regulations (EASA Part M, Part CAMO, Part 145, Part 21J) and airworthiness principles

Notion on Human Factor analysis and Flight Operations for subjects interacting with Maintenance (eg. MMEL)

Project management 

Required soft skills

Effective communication (verbal & written) in English to convey ideas and information to various stakeholders and teams

Reliable, autonomous, organized, solution-oriented

Able to face a wide range of complex subjects

Good relationship with her/his team and all of its stakeholders

Education & Experience:

Aeronautic engineering degree with 10 years of experience 

Preferably with direct Airline & MRO experience
