What this job involves - The Quality Control Supervisor will oversee and perform Environmental Monitoring of the manufacturing and manufacturing support areas at Amgen Thousand Oaks. This position will oversee a team's daily operations, ensuring productivity and adherence to company standards by managing tasks, scheduling, and providing guidance and feedback to employees .This position is a unique opportunity to work within each of the different production areas at the Amgen Thousand Oaks site and to directly support both manufacturing and Quality Control operations. Must be willing to work a 6am-3pm Monday-Friday work schedule and possibly weekend work when required. What is the day to day?

• Collecting surface, air viable and particulate environmental monitoring samples 
• Aseptic gowning and collection of gowning monitoring samples 
• Sampling compressed air and gas samples. 
• Operation and maintenance of specialized equipment for sample collection 
• Colony enumeration and data entry and approval within various Laboratory Information Management Systems 
• Daily communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams 
• Implementation of lab improvements to ensure an efficient and productive lab environment 
• Revision of laboratory SOPs and other controlled documents using the Amgen enterprise document management system 
• Training of new staff 
• Support of Quality Management System records including deviations and change controls 

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelors Degree in a science field and/or lab experience in a commercial environment
• Familiarity with standard operating procedures or following specific job instructions
• Experience working in a cGMP environment
•  Knowledge of cGMP regulations.
• Strong verbal, written communication skills and computer skills.
• Must be goal-oriented, quality-conscientious, and customer-focused.
• Knowledge of laboratory science and aseptic techniques principles.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and laboratory test methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Excel is highly desirable
• Proven supervisory experience with ability to lead and develop team members

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

Shift: 6am-3pm Monday-Friday with OT as needed

Estimated compensation for this position:

85,000.00 – 100,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
