Cyber Business Operations Lead

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Cyber Business Operations Lead to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

The Cyber Business Operations Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of SOC operations for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Your responsibilities will span various areas, including strategic communications, knowledge management, policy compliance tracking, process improvement, quality review, and metrics management. You will lead a robust team dedicated to these functions, collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance the SOC's capabilities and contribute to overall mission success.

Duties

• Lead the development and execution of communication strategies to inform internal and external stakeholders about SOC activities, incidents, and operational updates.
• Craft executive-level reports for agency leadership, providing insights into SOC performance, trends, and key metrics.
• Collaborate with communication teams to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.
• Establish and manage a comprehensive knowledge base that captures best practices, playbooks, SOPs, and lessons learned.
• Ensure knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the SOC team.
• Implement processes to maintain the relevancy and accuracy of the knowledge base.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with agency policies, procedures, and security standards within the SOC.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for optimizing SOC workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead initiatives to design, implement, and refine new processes, ensuring alignment with agency objectives.
• Conduct regular quality reviews and audits of SOC operations to ensure adherence to established standards.
• Provide recommendations for corrective actions and improvements based on audit findings.
• Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and security metrics to assess SOC performance.
• Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance security posture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher (preferably in a relevant field)
• 5+ years of experience in security operations, business operations, or related fields
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, and PMP are a plus
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
• Proven experience in managing teams and leading cross-functional projects
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge of federal government policies, regulations, and procedures (preferred)
• Experience with enterprise ticketing systems like ServiceNow
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to learn and function in multiple capacities and learn quickly
