Who are we looking for?

Our Columbus, OH office has an excellent opportunity for a Regional Transportation Leader. Areas of expertise must primarily include Roadway and Traffic services, with additional experience in Aviation, Rail, and Port transportation sectors. Relationships w key Midwest clients, state and county government, vendors and business partners is essential. This is an outstanding position for a senior level individual to participate in growing GHDs Midwest Region by supporting our current staff and clients, and building new relationships through business development.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

• Proven excellence at all stages of the project life-cycle, from preparing qualifications and proposals to feasibility studies, reports, detailed design and data analysis, and partner management
• Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial competence, including identifying, assessing, evaluating and solving problems to schedule and budget
• Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
• Demonstrated portfolio of multi-discipline, municipal infrastructure, transportation & site development projects 
• Background working with Highway (ODOT, etc), Airports, Railyard and Port Authority type clients 
• Strong foundation across multiple software design platforms – including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation would be ideal
• Strong foundation across multiple traffic engineering software programs – including HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, and other traffic simulation packages, would be ideal
• Experience and familiarity with FAA, ODOT and other agency standards is preferred.
• Strong Leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and, cooperative in open sharing of information and knowledge with team
• Proven abilities in coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team capabilities.
• Good time management ability, ability to handle conflicting priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments - Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field), preferred
• Registered Professional Engineer (Civil) 
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification, preferred
• 15+ years of experience with solid technical knowledge and sk
