Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Develops, analyzes, and conducts complex financial analyses to assess the viability of strategic and financial plans and programs, independently. Integrates financial principles, theories, and concepts to develop reports. Monitors results from program and project implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops projections to model the financial impact of programs and projects. Supports efforts of customers to sustain results from program and project implementation.
• Investigates and analyzes financial transactions and/or regulations in support of programs and projects, and/or reviews monthly results and budget variances.
• Designs, develops, and modifies financial forecasting models and simulations for programs. Accumulates and analyzes data from existing or established databases.
• Presents financial, statistical, and operational reports. Analyzes budget impact of implemented programs/projects and provides input for financial projections.
• Analyzes and reports on the effects of proposed federal and state statutes and regulatory actions which may impact financial planning.
• Analyzes future trends and indicators in related areas of interest. Reviews data to analyze trends affecting budget needs.

Financial Concepts

  • Strong understanding of financial principles such as financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and variance analysis.
  • Capable of building an neatly organized financial model to support a business requirements or proposals.
  • Ability to evaluating businesses, projects, budgets, etc. to determine their performance, stability and profitability.
  • Basic to Intermediate understanding of Accounting including concepts of revenue recognition, leases, matching principles, cost accounting, and other key concepts.

Communication and Project Management

  • Communicates professionally across various platforms, including calls, video conferences, and in-person meetings.
  • Clearly articulates implications and potential next steps.
  • Effectively presents ideas, analysis, and summaries with appropriate presentation or visual tools such as Text, Excel, PowerPoint, or data visualization software.
  • Seeks out and develops key relationships with peers and leaders across the organization.
  • Experience and practiced in Planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.
  • Assess financial processes and lead the development of improved workflow, technology, and data management solutions, to support finance operations and internal customers.


Technical Capabilities

  • Expertise in Excel, particularly in advanced formulas and functions, data modeling, and data visualization. Proficient in using tools like pivot tables and Power Query. Experience with DAX, Power BI, SQL, and Tableau is a plus.
  • Experience with Workday report writing, Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday OfficeConnect, or Essbase SmartView a plus.
