We are currently looking for a Private Asset Valuation Analyst to join Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) on a permanent basis in London.
The Private Asset Valuation Analyst will play a key role in supporting the valuation of Private Asset instruments, incl. private debt, real estate, infrastructure, ABS, and other alternative asset classes.
The role will involve overseeing appointed third-party valuation agents/vendors, applying appropriate valuation techniques to validate asset valuations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of governance and transparency in asset valuations, and periodically presenting to the relevant Valuation committees/forums. The analyst will work closely with portfolio managers, investment analysts, risk teams, and external service providers to ensure accurate and timely valuations of private assets in line with industry best practices. The analyst will be a member of various management / oversight committees and will be required to present to senior stakeholders across RLAM and Royal London.

Valuation Oversight
· Manage day to day activities related to the valuation of private asset instruments
· Manage third-party valuation vendors and oversee valuations across private equity, debt, real estate, and other private assets.
· Apply valuation methodologies (e.g., DCF, comparables, NAV) and conduct periodic reviews, back-testing, and updates based on market conditions.
· Provide support for public asset valuation oversight when needed.
Data Analysis & Research
· Collect and analyse financial data, market trends, and asset performance metrics.
· Stay informed on valuation standards and industry developments, especially in alternative investments.
Governance & Compliance
· Ensure valuations comply with internal policies, IFRS, UK GAAP, and AIFMD.
· Prepare governance documentation and represent the team in valuation oversight forums.
· Monitor internal controls related to valuation practices.
Collaboration & Communication
· Coordinate with portfolio managers, risk teams, auditors, and external vendors to ensure accurate valuations.
· Support risk assessments related to asset valuations.
Reporting & Insights
· Prepare valuation reports for committees, senior management, and clients, highlighting key valuation movements and challenges.
· Contribute to periodic fund and client reporting.
Process Improvement
· Identify and implement process enhancements and technology solutions to improve valuation accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.
About you
· Previous experience working within either asset management or a third-party administrator, ideally including oversight experience.
· Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Private Markets and Assets and the valuation of such instruments (incl. but not limited to Private ABS, Private Placements, Commercial Real Estate Debt, Infrastructure).
· Strong, demonstrable knowledge of varying equity and fixed income (including money market) instrument types and the valuation of such instruments.
· Good knowledge of OTC derivatives and alternative investments preferable.
