HPC Senior Technical Presales Engineer - Quantum Computing

As we scale to meet rapidly growing market demand, we are expanding our Sales Engineering organization to help enterprise, HPC centers, and research institutions adopt quantum technologies seamlessly.</p><p><br/>As an <strong>HPC Senior Technical Presales Engineer</strong> at Quandela, you will serve as the technical bridge between our sales team and prospective customers. <br/>You will analyze complex HPC environments, evaluate workloads, and design tailored quantum system configurations that integrate smoothly with existing infrastructures.</p><p>Your mission is to help organizations understand <strong>how quantum computing fits within their HPC strategy</strong>, demonstrate the technical value of Quandela’s photonic quantum platforms, and ensure strong technical qualification during the sales cycle.</p><p>This role is ideal for someone with deep HPC expertise and a passion for emerging technologies.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>1. Technical Discovery &amp; Assessment</strong></p><ul><li>Engage with customers (HPC centers, industry R&amp;D teams, national labs) to understand their infrastructure, workloads, and performance constraints.</li><li>Analyze hybrid HPC+quantum use cases and map them onto Quandela’s hardware and software capabilities.</li><li>Evaluate customer readiness and propose integration strategies</li></ul><p><strong>2. Solution Architecture</strong></p><ul><li>Design quantum system configurations, including processors, control electronics, photonic modules, and integration with HPC orchestration frameworks.</li><li>Define resource sizing, hybrid workflow pipelines, and networking requirements.</li><li>Prepare technical documentation and architecture diagrams for proposals.</li></ul><p><strong>3. Presales Support</strong></p><ul><li>Lead technical presentations, deep dives, demos, and proof-of-concepts.</li><li>Respond to RFPs/RFIs with accurate, high-quality technical content.</li><li>Work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to ensure alignment between customer needs and Quandela’s roadmap.</li></ul><p><strong>4. Performance Benchmarking &amp; Demos</strong></p><ul><li>Run HPC and quantum benchmarks to demonstrate performance gains or hybrid efficiency.</li><li>Support customer pilots and on-premise deployments.</li><li>Partner with application engineers to create customized demos.</li></ul><p><strong>5. Customer Enablement</strong></p><ul><li>Train customer HPC teams on using Quandela’s quantum SDK, simulators, and cloud platform.</li><li>Produce technical guides and onboarding materials.</li><li>Assist with early adoption and operationalization.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><h3><strong>Technical Skills</strong></h3><ul><li>5+ years experience in <strong>HPC engineering</strong>, <strong>HPC integration</strong>, <strong>HPC system architecture</strong>, or <strong>scientific computing</strong>.</li><li>Solid understanding of:</li><ul><li>HPC clusters, schedulers (Slurm, PBS, Kubernetes)</li><li>High-speed interconnects (InfiniBand, Ethernet), parallel computing</li><li>Python for scientific workflows</li><li>Linux administration and distributed systems</li></ul><li>Experience deploying or integrating advanced accelerators (GPUs, AI accelerators, FPGAs, etc.)</li><li>Familiarity with quantum computing concepts </li></ul><p></p><h3><strong>Presales / Customer-Facing Skills</strong></h3><ul><li> Experience in <strong>technical presales</strong>, <strong>sales engineering</strong>, or customer-facing technical roles. </li><li> Ability to translate complex HPC and quantum concepts into clear, compelling explanations tailored to different audiences (technical, managerial, executive). </li><li> Proven experience leading: </li><ul><li> <strong>Technical discovery sessions</strong> </li><li> <strong>Workload assessments</strong> </li><li> <strong>Architecture reviews</strong> </li><li> <strong>Proof-of-concepts</strong> and <strong>benchmarks</strong> </li></ul><li> Strong skills in <strong>building technical proposals</strong>, RFP/RFI responses, and solution design documents. </li><li> Capacity to conduct <strong>technical demos</strong>, workshops, and training sessions. </li><li> Ability to collaborate closely with <strong>Sales, Product, and Engineering</strong> to align customer needs with technical roadmaps. </li><li> Comfortable presenting to both <strong>technical experts</strong> (HPC admins, researchers, architects) and <strong>non-technical stakeholders</strong>. </li><li><strong>Willingness to travel across Europe</strong> to meet customers, support workshops, deliver technical presentations, and participate in pilots or deployments.</li></ul><p></p><h3><strong>Soft Skills</st
