Help us protect all Amazon subsidiaries, from Fabric to Zoox. We are looking for a security-focused software development engineer who wants to make a difference to ensure that protecting customer data is at the forefront of all development.
Security Services Engineering team identifies cross cutting localized security risks/areas for new or improved services, develops and iterates on managed security services. These services are consumed by Amazon acquisitions and subsidiaries to secure their environments. This team will develop applications/tools for discovery, security visibility for systems and network, Infrastructure security, provide customized layers on top of 3P tools and capabilities to integrate 3P tools into Amazon ecosystem that can scale across 20+ subsidiaries with different business models. This team will be responsible for automating/improving repetitive processes, automating/improving infrastructure management, developing monitoring solutions, and enhancing our current services. You will become intimate with the architecture of our systems and be responsible for diving deep into code, and developing solutions for customers and services.

You’ll work with software developers, security engineers, program managers, data engineers, and others across multiple teams to develop innovative security solutions at massive scale.
*This role is open to alternative locations including: New York, NY / Herndon, VA / Arlington, VA / Seattle
Key job responsibilities
* Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts for iterative development.
* Develop infrastructure-as-code software to stand-up security services and automate repetitive process
* Design fault tolerance and disaster recovery solutions
* Identify and remove scaling bottlenecks of network visibility security systems
* Work with other engineers to build and manage scaled services
* Work with other engineers to diagnose and resolve customer issues
* Understand and implement security and operational best-practices

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
