The Labeling Compliance Team Leader ensures BASF provides its customers (domestic and export) with labeling suitable for use in meeting all applicable safety, legal, and state/federal regulations. The position oversees product-related labeling, including communication, coordination, and artwork scheduling as well as providing guidance on labeling requirements and implementing corrective actions for compliance issues.

  • Leading the team which is responsible for the creation, revision, and approval of pesticide product labels in compliance with EPA, FIFRA, and international regulations.
  • Ensuring that proper labeling is available to meet production schedules and that labeling artworks are created to meet packaging specifications; print vendor requirements; and are as cost-efficient as possible.
  • Collaborating with internal teams (Regulatory, Marketing, Legal, Sales, Supply Chain) and external stakeholders (regulatory agencies, consultants) to align labeling strategies.
  • Mentoring and leading regulatory team members, fostering professional development and performance.
  • Supporting strategic initiatives to streamline labeling processes and reduce time-to-market for new products.
  • Working closely with internal teams (Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Sites, Tolling Manufacturing, etc.) on providing guidance on labeling requirements and implementing corrective actions for compliance issues.
  • Demonstrating a proactive attitude towards learning and implementing AI technologies to enhance business processes and decision-making. 

If you...

 

  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Regulatory Affairs, or related field.
  • Possess 8+ years of experience working in Operations or Regulatory or other related areas.
  • Have the ability to interpret scientific data and regulatory guidelines to develop compliant labeling.
  • Are familiar with regulatory databases and labeling software tools.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • Possess prior project management/team leadership experience preferred.
  • Have the ability to effectively manage mentor and develop a diverse team of professionals.
