About the role

Operator-Materials 

Immediate opportunities are available for talented Operators-Materials who want to become part of the Johnson Controls team. Due to high demand, we are now hiring multiple Operators-Materials at our Wichita, KS manufacturing facility. The Materials Operator is responsible for overseeing the movement, storage, and handling of materials within our warehouse and production areas. The role involves ensuring materials are organized, accessible, and ready for use to support operational needs. 

 

Pay 

$18.50/h + $1.25/h shift differential 

Schedule 

2:30 PM - 11 PM

What You Will Do: 

  • Operate material handling equipment, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials. 

  • May load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas, ensuring proper storage and organization. 

  • Ensure inventory is accurately tracked and reported, assisting in stocktaking and regular inventory checks while walking through facility to facilitate materials. 

  • Maintain safety protocols and ensure the proper handling of hazardous materials as needed. 

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of materials for production lines or job sites. 

  • Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 

  • Record material movement and inventory data accurately for reporting purposes. 

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of material handling equipment and warehouse areas. 

  • Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to ensure materials meet production or project requirements. 

 

What We Look For: 

 

  • Attention to detail, be able to multitask in fast paced environments, and analyze and predict needs by being proactive and self-efficient. 

  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment and ability to work with changing needs. 

  • Ability to read and write in English and ability to use a touchscreen device and scanner. 

  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a warehouse or industrial setting. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with inventory management software or systems. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. 

  • Prior experience as a material operator and stocking expe
