Job Description
The Shipping/Recieving Operator is responsible for the reconciliation of incoming and outgoing materials and movement of finished goods and material. Move material to appropriate areas throughout the plant and document in accordance with established procedures. Load/Unload trucks and document transaction in accordance with established procedures.
What You'll Do:
- Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
- Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.

- Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
- Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
- Move materials, equipment, or supplies.
- Sort materials or objects for processing or transport.

- Receive information or instructions for performing work assignments.
- Review work orders or schedules to determine operations or procedures.
- Record operational or production data.

Qualifications
Who You Are:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in written and verbal communication, and good spelling and grammar.
- High degree of attention to detail; demonstrates accuracy and self-directed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Experience with Inventory tracking software desired.
- Experience with data entry software and handheld computer device software.
- Must be able to pass “Forklift Certification” process.
SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold), and the employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics.
