Electrical Technical Lead - Data Center Focus

ABM Mission Critical Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Technical Lead to join our growing Data Center Services team. In this critical role, you will lead a team of electrical technicians in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our clients' data center electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of electrical technicians, providing technical guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Oversee all aspects of electrical system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair within data centers, including power distribution systems, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems, PDUs (Power Distribution Units), and emergency generators.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise the installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical equipment in data centers.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for data center electrical systems, ensuring adherence to established schedules and best practices.
  • Analyze electrical system performance data to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions to optimize efficiency and reliability.
  • Lead the response to electrical system emergencies in the data center, ensuring swift resolution with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of relevant electrical codes and data center specific standards (NFPA 70E, NFPA 704, BICSI, etc.).
  • Collaborate with engineers, mechanical technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems with other data center infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for all electrical systems within assigned data centers.
  • Stay up to date on the latest advancements in data center electrical technologies and best practices.
  • Implement a strong safety culture within the team and prioritize adherence to all company safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working on electrical systems in a commercial or industrial setting, with at least 4 years of experience in a data center environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and motivating a team of electrical technicians.
  • Demonstrated expertise in low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS, and emergency power systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and data center specific standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects effectively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred.
