Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries seeks an SOX Controls Intern will help drive the SOX process while streamlining process.  The candidate will work across the organization to understand accounting impacts, key business issues and devise actionable strategic recommendations with corroborating financial analysis

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work interdepartmentally to understand business processes and validate completeness of data. 
  • Review and update process documentation as necessary with process owners (maintain narratives / flowcharts which describe financial and operational processes). 
  • Work with subject matter experts on identifying areas of improvement & streamlining business processes. 
  • Assist in control walkthroughs and design testing. 
  • Performs a variety of other functions/ad-hoc projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor to aid in the department’s/company’s achievement of goals and business objectives.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.


Required Qualifications:

  • Education At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship 
  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing. 
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)  
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience 

  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. 

  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  

  • Strong planning & organizational skills
