Pilates and Group Fitness Specialist

As a Pilates and group fitness instructor, you will develop and plan engaging workouts within a safe and clean environment. You will demonstrate exercises clearly and accurately, assess participants' abilities to adjust workouts as needed, and promote group classes to new members. You will aid the assistant director of fitness and wellness with administrative tasks, including class scheduling, payroll, and maintenance requests. You will also support the recruitment of other instructors when necessary.

The successful candidate will be capable of physically completing the class they instruct. The candidate should be well-spoken, personable, and organized. They should also be self-motivated, team-oriented, and responsible. They must check their email and other electronic communications daily. The candidate should consistently adhere to policies and procedures. 

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Certified in Pilates on apparatus (Tower, Cadillac, and/or Reformer)  
• Certification from a nationally recognized Pilates instructor program (Balanced Body, Power Pilates, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications: 

• General group fitness certification through a nationally accredited organization

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

• CPR/AED and first-aid certification within 30 days of hiring date

Travel required:

• Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
