Job Description Summary

The Health Communication and Equity Lab (HCEL) is based in the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and our research informs the design of culturally responsive communication interventions to advance the health and well-being of populations impacted by tobacco use. HCEL is accepting applications for a Research Project Manager.

The Research Project Manager will assist Dr. Andy Tan in implementing the day-to-day activities of a federally funded research project to optimize future public health communication on the continuum of risk for tobacco products to minimize tobacco use harms among adults who use tobacco products and prevent youth initiation and progression of tobacco product use.

Job Description

  • Manage and coordinate all project and site startup activities.

  • Draft study intervention protocols, initial IRB applications, amendments, and continuing review reports, annual NIH reports, regulatory submissions, and other reports as needed.

  • Manage and coordinate stakeholder communications and activities, including internal and external grant management staff, collaborators, consultants, federal partners, vendors, and research participants.

  • Work with investigators to ensure the collection of data according to protocol, manage data systems, and help to ensure study protocols are implemented and required study documentation is maintained.

  • Provide information relevant to budget decisions and assist with processing budget forms under supervision of the PI.

  • Assist with planning weekly meetings with investigators and project staff, and monthly meetings with external research collaborators and federal partners.

  • Notify the PI of issues affecting and relating to study progress, and that may impact the study’s timeline.
