About the Position

The Director of People Operations (POps) is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of human resource functions at Geneva. The Director will lead the development and implementation of key employee-related initiatives, including talent acquisition and management, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, and engagement. The Director will create strategies to drive business alignment and success, assess current state of people operations, understand gaps between current and desired future state, provide a roadmap for achieving world-class people operations, develop integrated employee engagement communications, and build a great employee experience. The Director is expected to be an enterprise-wide thinker who works collaboratively with other senior leaders at Geneva and executes data-driven decision making to sustain and enhance quality of services.

This is a fully remote position, with location preference to be within a reasonable commute to our Bethesda, MD Corporate office. Must be willing to undergo a background check.

Salary Range:

$130,000 - $150,000. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources (HR) or related field, with professional certifications strongly preferred, such as PHR (Professional in Human Resources), SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional), SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional), HRMP (Human Resource Management Professional), HRBP (Human Resource Business Professional) and CCP (Certified Compensation Professional)
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in non-profit, medical research, or federal government contracting industry
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in human resources, including expertise in key areas such as compensation, benefits, workforce development, succession planning and change management
  • Demonstrated strategic planning, implementation and evaluation expertise is essential
  • Proficiency with Workday strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication
  • Possess a positive and professional demeanor
  • Ability to execute the vision of the organization in response to changing conditions
  • Ability to provide strong leadership, innovative thinking, creative planning, and effective motivation of employees
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities and available to interact with employees, clients, and sponsors of all levels
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in fast-paced, high-pressured environment with strict deadlines and to manage multiple projects
  • Be a consensus builder and persuasive leader with a strong commitment to teamwork and knowledge sharing

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads by example and models standards for professionalism and collegiality
  • Leverages working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues to build strong connections, cooperation and collaboration
  • Establish departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurements that support the accomplishment of Geneva’s strategic and financial goals
  • Develop, manage, and mentor staff by providing training, guidance, and feedback
  • Develop and document POps policies and best practice guidelines and internal controls
  • Provide direction and support to direct report employees to ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct regular reviews of all POps policies, programs, and practices to keep leadership and management informed of new developments
  • Provide technical direction and overall supervision and guidance to POps department to ensure compliance with all federal, state and governing regulations/laws
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes
  • Develop and implement plans for systems and processes
  • Serve as an active member of the Leadership Team
  • Collaborate with peers and team members in a willing, professional manner
  • Encourage innovation throughout the organization for future-based outcomes and results
