An Environmental Field Operations Supervisors job is available with The City of Fort Worth Environmental Services Department. This position will be responsible for supervision and oversight of the City’s litter control including street sweeping operations and related efforts. The Environmental Services Department operates critical programs that continually serve to manage environmental quality, garbage, recycling, and waste reduction services for the residents of Fort Worth. This position is intended to directly support a fleet of street sweeping equipment, operations staff, and litter collection efforts within the City of Fort Worth.  This contributes to the City’s vision of the “most livable and best-managed city in the country”.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High School diploma / GED.
• Four (4) years of experience in the operation of motorized equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of related supervisory experience

• Possession of a CDL Class “A” or “B” license or ability to receive within 6 months of hire.
• Advanced knowledge of data entry systems such as the Information Technology Service Management System (ITSM) and/or a work order management system and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
• GIS mapping and route formation
• Data and budget management experience
• Experience presenting to neighborhood associations other stakeholders
• Experience in street sweeping and heavy equipment operations.

The Environmental Field Operations Supervisors job responsibilities include:

• Daily supervision and oversight of an internal fleet of street sweeping equipment and operators.
• Daily supervision and oversight of litter collections and contracted litter crews.
• Supervises staff and external contractors, which includes prioritizing and assigning work: conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
• Provides direct support to Environmental Services Executive Management.
• Reviews and analyzes reports and inter-departmental requests.
• Respond to inquiries and complaints; provide information to neighborhood associations and community members; respond to internal and external customer service requests.
• Provides support for local, state, and federal enforcement agencies
• Work closely with other departments and outside agencies to provide outstanding customer service and partnerships.
• Develops new programs and processes to increase departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensures daily performance goals are completed by internal staff and contractors.
• Acts as Environmental Service liaison to associations and organizations. 
• Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and yearly performance reports.
• Maintains records of equipment used and operations performed.
• Controls and maintains department equipment through training, preventative maintenance, and oversight of assigned vehicles and equipment.
